The Sony DCR-DVD908E Camcorder lets you capture and take pleasure in all those heart-warming moments to the fullest. Its innovative image sensor captures a huge amount of pixel data. Thus it gives you higher resolution, broad colour variety, smear-free images and higher light sensitivity.

The camera is packed with a series of superb features, in addition with the exceptional convenience and picture quality offered by the DVD media. Recording and reliving those video memories will undoubtedly be a pleasure.

Features like Channel Surround Recording 2.7, Super NightShot(R), Plus 5.1 Wide Photo LCD, Record Start/Stop and Zoom Buttons on LCD PictBridge, compatible USB 2.0 connection, Built-in Memory Stick(R) Duo slot all combine together to make this model a wonderful set. The New ActiFORCEH Info LITHIUM battery gives up to 9 hours continuous recording. Picture Motion Browser Software, Color Slow Shutter Active Interface Shoe, DVD recording in MPEG-2, Video thumbnail browsing for quick access to any scene together make this model a comfortable one to use.

On switching to still camera mode, the ClearVid CMOS Sensor in the DVD908 can capture 6.1 Megapixel still images. This is possible with the help of its Enhanced Imaging Processor. This processor processes the huge amounts of pixel data that it receives from the improved ClearVid CMOS Sensor at a very high speed. Its Dual Recording function makes it possible to record high-precision still images equivalent to 4.6 Megapixel even while shooting a video.

The DVD908 can capture sound in crystal clear format with its Dolby Digital 5.1. One can enjoy realistic sound as well as spectacular images when playing the disc on devices that support this 5.1ch surround sound. Moreover, when using an optional wireless microphone ECM-HW1, users can record distant sound without wire. This microphone is capable of picking up sounds accurately, even in busy or distant locations.

The DVD908 supports a variety of media such as 8cm DVD-R/-RW/+RW and now DVD+R DL. Extended shooting is possible by using Double Layer media. While shooting, this model automatically finds empty space on the disc for saving footages. Thus it prevents overwriting valuable footage. During playback a Visual Index function shows a list of contents. Thus users can easily find the scene they want to view.
