The notebook runs on Intel Core 2 Duo processor that whizzes at a good speed to provide you smooth operations. With a sufficient memory and hard disk, the storage capacity is also quite good. A wide Crystal Brite display screen and a Graphics Media Accelerator ensure a very good picture quality and good viewing solutions. Acer has also equipped this notebook with user friendly features like a high speed modem, WiFi and a webcam that bring it at par with other laptops of its category.

Other Features
This laptop from the house of Acer is power packed with interfaces like Bluetooth, Infrared, 5 in 1 Digital Media Card Reader and other out ports. However, unlike its other family members like the Aspire 5920WLMi, it is only provided with 3 USB ports. Though considering the other features, that doesn't hurt. It has a sound card with High Definition Audio as also microphone and speakers.

Design and Looks
This is where this near perfect laptop might take a dip in its scores. It weighs around 3 Kgs which makes it a rather heavy machine to carry around. The body and the total looks are also not very svelte and chic but that of a robust and sturdy notebook.

Verdict
If you are ready to ignore the weight and are prefer performance over style, then this is the right notebook for you. It is jam packed with all the features you could ask for and comes in a decent price too. All in all, it is the ideal notebook for an average person in search for a portable personal computer.

Despite its many flaws the Acer Aspire 5920 is one of the best buys today thanks to its rich specification, wealth of features and relative low price. I believe a proper new bios would solve the fan issue and CPU management, and a new Nvidia driver should let us use powermizer to reduce GPU heat. That leaves us waiting for a decent LCD panel from Acer or getting one of those LCD films to enhance the blacks. Like its name suggests, the Acer 5920 gemstone is truly a diamond in the rough and with a bit of polishing would shine.
