Introduction : Acer Aspire 2920 notebook PC is a wonderful offering for all those aspiring to own a laptop. In terms of portability it gives ultimate comfort and ease, thus serving its due purpose. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, integrated DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive and Dolby certified surround sound system in its most aesthetic Acer design.

Design and Build : The tempting new Acer 2920 Gemstone notebook design offers quality of execution, durable style, and superb usability with its six captivating design features: The intriguing depth of the LCD cover has a dark, satin-finish sub-layer with the Acer logo floating above it. The notebook is shaped with a smooth curvature, providing a very comfortable touch. It is designed thoughtfully. This Acer line is the first full line of notebooks to have Dolby Surround sound to enhance your digital entertainment. It has a sapphire blue Aspire nameplate and empowering Key that emerge like radiant gems inlaid in a ceramic work of art, thus keeping on to its name. To add on to its aesthetics it has a unique feel and a refreshingly light, pearl gray shade.

Screen: There's space for only a 12.1in display, however it stretches to a resolution of 1,280x800 so the Acer Aspire Gemstone 2920 offers a decent amount of desktop space to work on. The screen colors are really vibrant when you are unplugged. However its drawback is that in sunlight it will be somewhat hard to read. Besides, watching movies and working on graphic applications aren't pleasurable either because of its small screen.

Keypad and touchpad: The keypad is little curvy with a bit of style. The keyboard is in semi-ergonomic style which is why here the keys are comparatively smaller. However in comparison to the keypad size these don't look odd. Keeping with its aesthetics and looks the touchpad is also made curvy with two mouse buttons.

Speakers: The Aspire 2920 features Dolby Home Theater for truly enhanced cinema-style i.e. 5.1-channel surround sound that comes directly through the notebook's front mounted speakers. Acer eAudio Management centralizes the notebook?s audio control, and provides specialized audio modes, for movies, music and games.

Performance: The Intel Centrino Duo mobile technology that features the Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processor, powers intense digital experiences, therefore delivering double the performance for multitasking, and doubling entertainment and creative potential. Its updated mobile Intel GM965 Express chipset has up to 358 MB of integrated graphics power, and lets you run games, movies, and media applications with ease. Acer's CrystalBrite enhances high-definition video display performance giving the best quality images irrespective of where you are. Its large Serial ATA hard disk provides substantial storage and allows the system to boot up and load multimedia applications faster.

The Acer Aspire 2920 comes with the following features: Operating System - Linux Processor - Intel Core2Duo Processor T5450 Chipset - Intel 965GM chipset Memory - 1024MB DDR2 667MHz Memory Screen Size - 30.73 cms(12.1wide) Optical Drive - 8X DVDSuper Multi double layer drive HDD - 160 GB HDD Bluetooth - Integrated Bluetooth 2.0+EDR Card Reader - 5-in-1 Card reader LAN - Gigabit LAN Camera - Acer Crystal Eye Webcam supporting Primalite Technology Ports & Others - Three USB 2.0 Ports, Dolby Stereo Speakers Warranty - One Year.

This model has a small footprint at only 304x223mm, making it easy to slip into a bag, but at 42mm high it's you cannot really call it slim line. Neither is it any of the lightest models at 2kg. However, it is interesting to know that the Acer Aspire Gemstone 2920's compact dimensions hide a laptop that is actually pretty powerful when it comes to performance.

With little extra space to play with, Acer has managed to squeeze in the bare minimum ports necessary. You still get three USB ports, which are sensibly arranged with two on the left and one on the right of the Acer Aspire Gemstone 2920. This way if you're plugging in a USB mouse you don't need to wrap the cable around the back of the machine. A battery life of 105 minutes is reasonable.

The Acer Aspire Gemstone 2920 would be suitable for those who spend a lot of time on the road and need a machine to carry with everywhere they go. It is powerful, considering you don't intend to play games. It is reasonably priced too.

A mini laptop with a lot of power. It comes with a Core2 duo processor, 2GB ram, 250GB memory, excellent graphics, and cost a little. I would also say that the design is quite unique and Fashionable. Good value for what your pay.

Good display, nice set of features, decent battery life, nice feel and functionality, burns dual-layer DVDs, accepts a variety of memory cards, has BlueTooth support, and so on and so on. Excellent laptop for those with a small budget.very good laptop for the money like someone else said acer does not load the laptop with a bunch of stupid software that you will never use.Good basic notebook if you're on a very limited budget. This is my 2nd Acer notebook (this one for my girlfriend) and I'm impressed at their quality and value. This configuration would be fine if you're able to load Windows XP os or just add a bit more memory
